Oscar-winning documentary filmmaker Margaret Lazarus will be the speaker at the Alliance meeting on March 6. Lazarus’s film, Affinity, was shown at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival this year. Affinity is a short experimental film exploring women-to-women connection as antidote to the toxic in male culture. Created in collaboration with art museum curator and dancer Starr Siegele, the film explores possibility and hope through women’s common bonds and their affinity with one another. It is an affirmation of life in response to war, environmental devastation, and violence.
