Held in the Ranchero Room.

UPDATED TOPIC: The opioid epidemic is an important topic; one that we will discuss later in the year. Sparking Political Action, Response & Change (SPARC) collectively decided Santa Barbara has a bigger focus and need right now.

Dr. Prystowsky is an ER doctor who treated many of the mudslide victims. His work and service with Doctors Without Borders has brought him to war and weather-ravaged places around the globe: Sudan, Uganda, Haiti, Mongolia, Nicaragua, Guatemala, Honduras, and others. He has seen a lot, and he has learned a great deal from disasters.

On Wednesday, Dr. Prystowsky will be joined by two clinical psychologists – with experience in trauma – to discuss the following:

* The definition of disaster, the anatomy of disaster response, and looking at lessons learned from past disasters
* Post traumatic stress disorder, secondary PTSD, and grief
* Personal and community methods to heal from disasters

Please feel free to extend this invitation to those in need of this kind of support.

Suggested donation: $15. RSVP to sbSPARC@gmail.com. Space is limited so a RSVP is encouraged. There will be no-host bar so arrive early to place your drink order.
