Date(s) - Tuesday, December 3
City of Goleta
On Tuesday, December 3, the Goleta City Council will discuss draft provisions in the City’s New Zoning Ordinance that affect Goleta’s precious creeks, habitats, and wetlands. The Environmental Defense Center wants to make sure the City Council knows that this community wants strong protections for these resources by enforcing the required setbacks, where feasible. EDC, on behalf of our clients Urban Creeks Council and ourselves, have been advocating for the Zoning Ordinance to include language that clearly states the steps for determining if the required setback from creeks and riparian habitat may be reduced upon an applicant’s request. This provision, however, would have broad applicability and therefore should apply to any request to modify City zoning or policy requirements.
Attend the hearing on Tuesday, December 3, 2019, at 5:30 pm or submit comments to the City Clerk by email at cityclerkgroup@cityofgoleta.
