June is Pride month, so this month’s discussion is featuring “A Queer and Pleasant Danger” by Kate Bornstein.
Each month we will read a different book that will have us examine various social injustices, stereotypes, and prejudices that exist in our current world.
All genres and formats will be represented in our reading: picture books, young adult, fiction, nonfiction, poetry, graphic novels, etc. Each has a unique ability to teach and reveal and are important to incorporate into our learning and understanding.
Cosponsors include Santa Barbara Transgender Advocacy Network , Pacific Pride Foundation , Just communities, SURJ-Showing Up for Racial Justice.
