Join Santa Barbara Progressive Coalition for their April meeting about Drought, Fire, & Flood: Environmental Action in the Face of Climate Change. In honor of Earth Day, our April 12 meeting speakers will focus on environmental issues.

Katie Davis, Chair of the Santa Barbara Sierra Club, will talk about disasters in light of the changing climate, oil threats in the Trump era and the environmental choices and opportunities related to energy and transportation that we face right now in Santa Barbara, and the actions we can take to effect change here and now.

Cameron Gray, Transportation & Climate Specialist with the CEC, will share details about Earth Day, which they are busy organizing, the EV showcase, and the Drought, Fire, & Flood town hall they have planned for Wednesday, 4/25.

The Deep Ecology Club of SBCC will do a short presentation on what “deep ecology” means to them.

Speakers will be followed by usual breakouts and action updates. Everyone welcome! Bring a friend.

Note that the 2018 Progressive Coalition meetings have a new location – our local Red Cross building. Check back during the year but meetings are planned for the 2nd Thursday of each month. As last year we will have announcements of general interest to all attendees and divide into interest groups (single payer healthcare, marches, flipping congressional districts, climate justice, economic justice, immigrant rights, etc) for the remainder of the time.

Parking is available in back of the building, off of Alamar Street, or on State Street.  Enter the building from the back or front.
