When

Sunday, October 27
2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Event Type

Join politically motivated locals who regularly use Indivisible’s guide in penning letters and signs. Write or make mail art to whomever you want – it feels good and is tangible action. We are always interested in new resources and addresses.

We’ll be writing postcards encouraging voters to get out and support a slate of important candidates in next week’s state election in Kentucky. If this goes well it builds momentum, focus, and money to ditch Mitch next year. Kentuckians are voting on Governor, Attorney General, Secretary of State and several other important positions. We’ll write postcards to registered democrats encouraging them to get out there and support the slate of candidates for a healthy change on Nov 5th. Postcards to Voters says if we can help flip districts: “Democratic County Party offices and clubs across Kentucky will be so pumped up at even a single statewide win that it will generate immediate and sustained volunteer recruitment and donor fundraising at the kinds of levels needed to mount a realistic campaign to #DitchMitch in 2020.” Also, we continue to write to asylum seekers stuck in private detention centers. It’s exciting to see some back and forth communication happening.

Pen Connection:
• Meets most Sundays
• We have writing supplies to share but can always use more stamps, cool pens, collage materials, etc, if you’ve get em!
• Coming for the beginning and bringing snacks are highly encouraged, but not terribly important.
• We try to strike a balance between discussion with solo writing time. There’s plenty of room for composing thoughts, but you may want to bring headphones 😉
• Write or make mail art to whomever you want. It feels good and is tangible action.
