Using the excellent resource material from the Foreign Policy Association, including its DVD, the Great Decisions Foreign Policy Association Discussion Group program will explore the leading eight subjects that confront the US in 2018. Participants will need the “briefing book” published by the Foreign Policy Association, which can be ordered from USSB or from the FPA website. For further information, feel free to contact John Warnock, the project coordinator.

The first meeting topic will be The Waning of Pax Americana, by Carla Norrlof. The program leader is Adam Shive and the topic is the impact of Trump’s withdrawal from the progressive, liberal leadership that the U.S. has provided since the end of WW II. Which countries will benefit most from the retrenchment, and what added risks now confront the U.S.?

Great Decisions program meets on alternate Wednesdays from February 7 through May 16. For more information about this meeting’s topic and future topics in the program, visit Great Decisions Foreign Policy Discussion Group.
