Date(s) - Wednesday, May 16
The eighth – and final – Great Decisions meeting topic will be Global Health, by Josh Michaud. Global health has been an indisputable success story over the past 30 years. Action by countries, communities and organizations has literally saved millions of lives. Yet the international community is in no position to rest on its laurels. Global measures of health status have improved, but terrible inequalities persist and the world faces a mix of old and new challenges. This means the next several decades will be just as important—if not more so—than the last in determining well-being across nations.
Using the excellent resource material from the Foreign Policy Association, including its DVD, the Great Decisions Foreign Policy Association Discussion Group program will explore the leading eight subjects that confront the US in 2018. Participants will need the “briefing book” published by the Foreign Policy Association, which can be ordered from USSB or from the FPA website. For further information, feel free to contact John Warnock, the project coordinator.
Great Decisions program meets on alternate Wednesdays from February 7 through May 16. For more information about this meeting’s topic and future topics in the program, visit Great Decisions Foreign Policy Discussion Group.
