Daily Action Editors

Indivisible Santa Barbara needs help creating our Daily Actions!

Job Description:

The Daily Action Team is responsible for drafting the action items that appear in the bi-weekly (Monday and Thursday) email newsletter and the text for the daily Twitter feed. The team drafts actions based on information submitted by Indivisible-SB and the various Intel Teams (eg. Gun Control, Health, Environment, Immigration, etc.).

The team creates a four or five line rationale and description of the action, find links that can be posted with it as “More Info,” and double-checks the facts (the links, sources, etc.) to be sure they are correct and that the action is timely. A sample from one of the past newsletters is posted below.

Applications:

The team uses Google Docs to create a weekly “Scratch” page, which they use for drafting the actions. They also use the application SLACK to communicate with each other while we are drafting, and for all other necessary communication among teams and I-SB generally.

Deadlines and Time Commitment:

Drafting happens twice a week on Sunday afternoon (from about 2 to 5 pm) and Wednesday afternoon (from about 1 to 3 pm). The weekly time commitment is between 4 to 6 hours a week.

If you can work one of these days (Sunday or Wednesday) but not both please indicate that in your reply.

Skills and Experience:

Good writing, editing, and proofreading skills are required. Enthusiasm for collaboration is a plus.

Call/email Monique Limon:
Vote Yes on California Values Act

In March, we issued a call to support S.B. 54, which prohibits local and state law enforcement from assisting ICE in enforcement of Trump’s un-American immigration policies. The bill passed the State Senate, and now goes to the Assembly. Update: Monique Limon’s office has gotten more “NO” than “YES” calls for this bill!  Please call or email Monique Limon today!
